In her career, Sydney Sweeney is going through a significant phase.

Star power: Sydney Sweeney is having a major moment in her career. The White Lotus star, 25, appeared on the Today Show on Wednesday to talk about her new movie Reality and choices she made when she was a kid that set her on the road to her spectacular success

The 25-year-old star of White Lotus made an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday to discuss her new film Reality and the decisions she made as a young child that ultimately led to her incredible success.

The movie centres on Reality Winner, a former contractor for the National Security Agency who was detained in 2017 and accused of leaking a classified document to The Intercept during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Career milestones: The film is about the former National Security Agency contractor Reality Winner who was arrested in 2017 and charged with leaking a confidential document to the news site The Intercept during the 2016 Presidential election

The Broadway play Is This a Room, which is a verbatim recounting of Winner’s arrest and questioning, served as the inspiration for the movie. It opened in 2021.

The Euphoria actress, who will be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy Anyone But You, looked stunning in a pleated skirt and mint green jacket. She accessorised the look with black high-heeled slingback shoes and white socks.

“She is such a complex person.” She added, “And I had never read anything that was taken straight from the transcripts when I first read the script.”

“This is the real FBI interrogation—not a word is changed.”

In addition, when the actress trained for the part, she had the opportunity to meet with Reality.

The Washington native also discussed decisions she made as a child that led her to her current situation with Hoda Kotb.

She wanted to try out for a movie that was being filmed in her hometown of Spokane, Washington, when she was eleven years old. She came up with a creative method to tell her parents.

“I created a five-year plan outlining my potential outcomes if my parents allowed me to try out for this local small-budget film.”

She presented the strategy with some rationality, if not much loftiness, implying that if she went to a short film audition, talent agencies would see her, which would lead to a meeting with a well-known producer, and so on.

“They came to understand that I took my identity and goals very seriously,” she remarked.

Sydney’s second ambition is also coming true: she will be able to showcase her comedic abilities in the upcoming romantic comedy Anyone But You, which she recently wrapped up filming in Sydney, Australia.

Success: 'I put together a five year business plan of what could happen if my parents let me audition for this small movie that came to town'

She told Variety earlier this week that she and her 34-year-old co-star Glen Powell “laughed every day” while working on the film.

It was really a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun every day, and the actors and crew were all really wonderful individuals with whom we got along,” she remarked.

Reality is currently accessible on Max.
