Dopamine dressing and spring fashion go hand in hand like clockwork; there is something about the season of fresh starts that calls for more cheery, vibrant colors. Correct?

But it appears like Anya Taylor-Joy has approached her evening attire for the new season somewhat differently, and we have to admit that her creativity is admirable.

The star of The Last Night in Soho eschewed a bright color scheme for an edgier all-black outfit on Monday night in New York.

The 28-year-old was invited, along with other celebrities including Rosamund Pike, Michelle Williams, and Charlize Theron, to Dior’s Pre-Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear event in New York, which was held at Brooklyn Museum.

Anya showed off her trademark style even outside the official fashion seasons, appearing effortlessly stylish in a black midi dress. 

The garment had a strapless neckline and an illusion of a backless design due to the sheer strip that covered the décolletage and extended to the back of the dress. Her waist was narrowly defined by a thin belt, which gave the ensemble structure.

But her unusual choice of accessories was the one element of her ensemble that really drew our attention. To complement her clothing, the Dune: Part Two actress accessorized her little black dress with sophisticated opera gloves made of an ultra-fine mesh. 

Opera gloves have long been associated with formal dress rules and are a symbol of decadence and old-school grandeur. Gigi Hadid, Florence Pugh, and even the Princess of Wales were spotted wearing them last year, and they were a major red carpet sensation. 

Anya gave her evening ensemble a seductive edge and a sense of depth by donning a pair in a sheer material. The actress accessorized her look with a glossy headband, charcoal smokey eyes, and pointed stilettos.
